FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Webbu.

General

What is Webbu?

A webhook buffering service. It receives webhooks, groups them by a key you choose, and delivers each group to your HTTP endpoint as one batch, with retries and a dead letter queue.

How is it different from a message queue?

A queue such as SQS or RabbitMQ gives you building blocks; you still write the consumer, the grouping and the HTTP delivery. Webbu is specialized for webhooks:

  • Groups by a key taken from the payload or a header
  • Delivers batches over HTTP to any URL, including automation tools like Zapier, Make and n8n
  • Retries, dead letter queue and analytics included, managed from a dashboard
  • No infrastructure to run

What happens if my destination is down?

Webbu retries with exponential backoff (3 attempts in total by default, configurable up to 5). If every attempt fails, the batch is recorded in the dead letter queue. If several batches in a row fail, the buffer is paused automatically and ingest returns 400 until you re-enable it.

Can events be delivered twice?

Yes, delivery is at least once. For example, if your endpoint processes a batch but answers after the 10-second timeout, the batch is sent again. Deduplicate by items[].messageId.

Is the order of events preserved?

Within a delivery, items are in the order Webbu received them. Different groups and segments are delivered independently.

Does Webbu forward the original headers?

No. The destination receives the parsed JSON payloads plus metadata, with your configured delivery headers. Use the group key or the payload to carry what you need.

Data and privacy

How long is my data stored?

Payloads are stored only until their batch is delivered or moved to the DLQ, and are then deleted. DLQ entries keep message IDs and a preview of the first payload until you delete them.

Is my data encrypted?

Yes. Traffic to and from Webbu uses HTTPS when your destination URL is https://, and data is encrypted at rest on Google Cloud.

Pricing

How is usage measured?

In credits: 1 credit per started KB of each accepted webhook. Deliveries and retries are free. See Credits & Billing.

Is there a free option?

New accounts start with 10,000 credits, no credit card required. Plans start at R$ 49/month for 10,000 credits per month.

Do purchased credits expire?

No. Credit packs never expire. They require an active subscription to buy.
